The ​Research Group is a laboratory linked to the Center for Global Studies of the University of Brasília.

The Group undertakes studies and research on the political, economic and strategic international action of contemporary Brazil.

The Group articulates research efforts and training on History of Brazil Foreign Policy undertaken by researchers of the University of Brasilia and other centers specialized in International Relations and Foreign Policy and involves graduate and undergraduate students.

The Group is the operational base of research projects on Brazilian Foreign Policy funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development – CNPq, by the Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination – CAPES and by international agencies.

Different projects fit into the following axes:

  1. Ideas and values ​​in foreign policy of Brazil;
  2. The system of international relations of Brazil: the dimension of Bilateral relations;
  3. The system of international relations of Brazil: multilateral dimensions;
  4. The political economy of Brazil's international insertion;
  5. Security and defense as themes on Brazil's international agenda;
  6. Brazil and the agenda of global themes - environment and human rights.
